Yes. WP Godmode is powered by ChatGPT Codex, and you bring your own account — that way you keep direct control over usage, billing and rate limits with OpenAI.

For professional WordPress work we recommend the Codex Pro plan (not Business). Pro ships with significantly higher usage limits, which is what you want once you start running real work through Godmode. Freelancers running a few sites are usually comfortable on Pro; agencies shipping across a full portfolio almost always want it too.

WP Godmode runs on ChatGPT Codex by default. Codex’s reasoning on real codebases, its tool use and large-context understanding are what make the “reads your theme, plugins, content and database before it touches anything” promise actually hold up.

For agencies juggling multiple client brands, each site has its own WP Godmode install with its own context — so styles, tone and components never bleed between clients.

Yes — and on every plan, to some degree. WP Godmode gives you two levels of branding control:

• Admin colour (every plan): a built-in theme picker lets you set the accent colour of the WP Godmode backend, so it fits your own workspace or a client’s brand.
• Full white-label (Enterprise): replace the WP Godmode name and logo with your own, so clients see your agency throughout the admin — not us.

Yes — with an Enterprise licence. The Enterprise tier is built for agencies and platforms that want to offer WP Godmode (or a rebranded version of it) directly to their own clients. It includes a dedicated client interface, white-labelling, and licensing options designed for resale.

By default, WP Godmode keeps custom code clean and isolated in dedicated WP Godmode Projects (gm-projects). These are self-contained folders — easy to find, easy to disable, easy to delete — and they never touch your theme or WordPress core.

But you are not locked in. You can instruct WP Godmode to write code wherever it makes sense for the job:

• A child theme’s functions.php
• A snippet plugin (Code Snippets, WPCode, etc.)
• An existing custom plugin you already maintain
• A brand-new plugin or theme you ask WP Godmode to scaffold

You decide the destination; WP Godmode follows the conventions of the location.

Yes. Each site has its own set of rules you can write in plain English — and WP Godmode reads them before every action. Use them to lock in conventions:

• “Always write code in gm-projects, never in the theme”
• “Use Tailwind utility classes, never inline styles”
• “Match this brand voice in every piece of copy”
• “Ask before any database write, even in autonomous mode”

Rules are scoped per site, so a client’s strict production rules never bleed into your own internal staging.

A skill is a specialised module that teaches WP Godmode how to do a specific kind of work really well. WP Godmode ships with skills out of the box — a Breakdance builder skill that knows the page builder’s tree structure inside out, an OpenAI SDK skill that knows how to scaffold production-ready Codex integrations, and many more. Skills mean WP Godmode does not guess; it follows a tested recipe for the tool or framework in front of it.

Yes — you can create your own. Write a skill once (a short Markdown file describing when to use it and the steps to follow) and WP Godmode will reach for it automatically whenever it fits the task. Teams use this to encode internal conventions, framework choices, even client-specific workflows.

Yes. WP Godmode runs in three permission modes, set per site:

• Ask before every action — review and approve every change before it ships. Best for client production.
• Autonomous — WP Godmode executes without asking. Best for internal sites, staging or fast iteration.
• Read-only — WP Godmode can look at the site but cannot modify anything. Great for audits and analysis.

You can switch modes at any time, even mid-conversation, depending on how much trust the current task deserves.

Yes. WP Godmode accepts a wide range of files directly in the chat, and uses them as input for the task at hand:

• Images (PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG) — design references, bug screenshots, brand assets, “rebuild this from the image” tasks.

Yes. WP Godmode lets you pick which ChatGPT Codex model to use, and switch per conversation depending on what the work calls for. OpenAI groups their Codex models into tiers — and WP Godmode supports them all:

If a button is the wrong colour, a section is overlapping on mobile, or the new layout did not render at all, WP Godmode sees the problem visually and fixes it before handing the work back to you. Particularly powerful for layout work, page-builder changes, and bug reports that say “something looks off but I cannot quite describe it.”

Plan Mode is for the bigger jobs. Instead of jumping straight into execution, WP Godmode first lays out a step-by-step plan: which files it will touch, in which order, what could go wrong, what it needs from you.

You approve the plan, push back on it, or rework it together — before a single change is made. Best for non-trivial work: a multi-page redesign, a plugin build, a complex migration, anything where you want alignment before code starts shipping.

An agent is WP Godmode doing work on its own, in the background, while you get on with something else.

Today, WP Godmode runs parallel agents: spawn one or several to work alongside the main chat. One fixes a bug, another builds a new page, a third refactors a plugin — all at the same time. Instead of babysitting a single task, you delegate several and collect the results.

Scheduled and event-triggered agents are on the roadmap — cron-style runs like “every Monday, draft three blog post ideas from the latest industry news” or “every night, audit broken links and fix what you can,” plus triggers that fire on a new form submission, an order or a traffic spike. These are coming, but not available yet.

Even today, parallel agents turn WP Godmode from a chat assistant into an always-on team member you can delegate to.
